Marysville Getchell High School has garnered international attention as a model for advancing educational delivery. This school breaks down conventions of “cells and bells,” recasts spaces on a framework of fundamental learning styles, and organizes them into a distinct place of student-focused learning. This school embodies diverse perspectives focused into a singular architectural vision. The design grew from an entire team’s (owner, client, designer and community) willingness to enact change for the betterment of students today and into the future.
